Blackberry Martini

1/2 cup fresh blackberries + more for garnish
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce elderflower liqueur
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce Prosecco
To make the simple syrup: Combine the blackberries, sugar and water in a small saucepan. Mash the blackberries with a fork, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer for 3 minutes. Strain the syrup through a mesh strainer and let cool. For the martini: combine the vodka, 1 ounce of blackberry syrup, elderflower liquer, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice, shake and then strain into a martini glass. Top off with Prosecco and garnish with a few fresh blackberries.
Our thoughts: Blackberry season is upon us 🙌 Grab a fresh pint from a local farm or farmer's market - this yummy martini is worth it. It's sweet, sophisticated, and a little extra special with the touch of bubbly on top. We could sip on it all night. Tip: reward yourself for all that cocktail making by topping some vanilla icecream with those strained blackberries from the simple syrup.
