Agnes and Christiaan wanted a fun, casual wedding for their guests and themselves. Both the bride and the groom are scientists so they were looking to include nature in the design. The palette used a mix of lavender, tones of greens and white. The tones of green were brought in by the use of herbs. The couple wanted the wedding to be environmentally friendly and have guests be able to take the centerpieces home to plant. The couple gave the guests trees as favors from the Arbor Day Society.
